Why is the White Feather protected?

The White Feather is intended to be a purely personal way of expressing a belief in human values. Unfortunately, if the number of people knowing about it and wearing it grows, it will become an interesting marketing tool for commercial companies, which could use it to increase their public image. Of course there are many commercial companies that do comply with all the values the White Feather stands for, but White Feather.org is no certification institute that can check and approve companies. Therefore we can not allow them to use the symbol.

To be able to execute any rights to the name and logo, and to be able to take legal steps against people or organizations that breach these rights, it was necessary to register the name and logo as trademarks.
